Here are some answers to commonly asked questions about The Go BACK Project.
Do you only provide backpacks?
Our backpacks are a tool for building self-esteem and self confidence. Instead of traditional school supplies, our packs are filled with items youth would need to feel better about themselves. So, they may include encouraging books (short reads of course), personal hygiene items, or special request items. We provide them for youth at least twice a year and more frequently for children who are enrolled with GBP through one of our partner programs.
What is your service area?
That's a tricky one! We primarily "go back" to areas where we are needed, where our volunteers want to go, or where our partners are. Our founder has a special place in her heart for several cities across Michigan, such as Detroit, Kalamazoo, Saginaw, Midland and Gladwin -- but we will go where we're called.
What does it cost to participate with Go BACK?
Most of our services are free of charge to the children who benefit. Our consultation and speaking services come with a small fee that helps us to keep doing what we for others.
